I need to very much clarify this.
I would not be giving notes for bad gardens.
I would simply be praising good gardens.
In the same way, about 10 years ago, I had these cards made up.
And if I saw someone walking down the street in an amazing outfit, I would hand them this card.
And it just said, I want you to know I appreciate your look.
And I wouldn't say anything.
I'd just give them the card and walk away.
When you see someone who's made a real effort, it's just like, let them know they look

Yes.
And that's what I would be like with gardens.
Just pass on a little compliment, make people feel a bit better.
That's my vibe.
the chapter about litter picking starts with me going David Sedaris does 35,000 steps a day and litter picks all around Sussex he does it down the end of my road yeah and that was my inspiration for doing it and it does make you feel so much better because you do suddenly like to rework a bad old phrase it makes you feel like you are taking back control like kind of like you know you moan about everywhere being horrible just take a litter pick around 20 minutes later you've made the streets look lovely you feel fantastic
I wrote a column about this a couple of weeks ago.
I went to see Paul Simon play at the Royal Albert Hall and like kind of, and his voice is sort of like, it sounds like a candle now.
Like the wick is burning out.
He's like, he's old.
He's had a couple of operations and stuff, but those songs are incredible.
