And then the check arrives and it's 1,800 pounds.
And I'm like, oh, okay.
this is not going to save my family I need to do something else and I'm interviewed by Valerie Grove at the times when the book comes out because they're like a child has written a book and when the interview finished as soon as the interview is finished I just push a tape recorder to one side and lean across the table and go Valerie woman to woman how do you make money writing this book thing's not working out for me and she goes darling you need to be a columnist then you get paid every week so I'm like okay I will become a columnist
My parents are, I mean, I guess that's good parenting.
They're going, well, look, you're all equal to us and we love you all equally.
We're just as proud of the fact that Jimmy's done his first poo on the potty as we are that you have published a book.
And I'm like, yeah, yeah, I hear you.
