It's kind of a house where people come and don't leave again.
we've tried really really hard to really look at everything that made us both unhappy in our childhoods and go we're going to start again from scratch here i think there's an intergenerational thing where at some point there's intergeneration trauma that gets passed down and you have to be the generation that goes okay it stops here i'm going to make sure it stops here
And when I finally confronted all the stuff that was happening around with my daughter's eating disorder, it was both of us realising, OK, there's a whole lot of stuff that we were given as children, as everyone is.
And we're going to stop it here and we're going to learn everything we can in order to have a really healthy, happy house that doesn't make our daughters feel like we both did when we were kids, which is I can't wait to get out of here.
Yes.
Well, I mean, there's a reason why, you know, you know, there's a reason why it's often the common story for communicators and people who are vaguely in the public eye that they're constantly coming into a room going, ta-da, let me delight you.
Let me tell you a funny story.
Let me tell you my wisdoms.
Like kind of, you know, sort of like, you know, at the base of all it's just like, daddy, look, I did a thing.
That's what art is, I think.
I think that's what art is and all communication is.
Someone, my husband years ago said, it was interesting when social media started and you'd see people posting stuff and they would seem to be communicating with millions of people, but it was very obvious that the messages they were sending were usually aimed at one person.
And sometimes that person wouldn't even be alive anymore, but they just wanted a response from one person.
And I think that's so often what we're doing.
That's what drives people.
So who are you communicating to?
Oh, huge.
I mean, that's, I mean, God, that's the, that's the difficult part of being a parent, isn't it?
And just realising often that your gift to them is just stepping back, like kind of, I've got a lot of friends who are in the same kind of job.
And we all just had conversations really early on when we had kids, which is just step back and let them have their own light.
