A bit of a rush when I found it.
It took me longer than I would like to admit.
And I had to walk back to find it.
But I'm going to flash it now.
The prolific French artist has planted more than 1,500 of his mosaics across Paris alone.
There are now thousands of his artworks, which he calls invasions, in over 80 cities across the world.
He is perhaps even busier than Banksy.
His pixelated pictures have been affixed to the Eiffel Tower and the Hollywood sign.
They even orbit Earth in the International Space Station.
Invader often works under the cover of darkness.
And like any serious street artist, his identity is a secret.
But that hasn't stopped him from attracting fans.
If you know a child in a city that has been invaded by the artworks, the chances are you've heard of Flash Invaders, an app on which you score points for finding or flashing the mosaics.
So I found my second invader on Maiden Lane.
And it was a sort of ginger-haired pixelated man smoking a cigarette.
Players, including me, have logged more than 47 million flashes to date.
Invader uses the ancient practice of mosaic to create figures inspired by retro video games.
Each tile acts as a perfect pixel, which makes the mosaics look like digital images.
This pixelated effect also means the images can be scanned on a phone, a bit like a QR code, to play Flash Invaders.
The aim of the game is not only to interact with fans, says Invader, who spoke to me anonymously, but also to spark curiosity.
