Another thing that's important to bring up in sort of like my story too is like
I think a lot of times I've noticed this where people try to kind of like fit themselves into like a box that maybe they maybe that's not the right avenue for you.
Like
Like maybe there's other types of careers that are adjacent to quant finance that are really interesting and very overlooked or like working an operations role maybe could be a better fit for someone.
Like I always tell people this, like to work in finance you have to be smart.
Like no matter what if it's front middle or back office, you have to be smart to get those types of jobs.
So like
I do think a lot of times people have a narrow perspective and they think they have to get this job as a quantitative researcher at like, you know, HRT or wherever.
And like if they don't, then like they're doomed or something, or they have to take a different job.
And there's jobs that pay really well, by the way, that um
Like
You know, like software engineering jobs pay really well in the industry.
Maybe that could be a better avenue and
I remember I was actually interviewing with I don't wanna give a name of a a trading firm in Chicago.
And um if I had gotten that offer, I would have been only making like maybe forty five K a year or something as a trader trainee.
And I got rejected, which was
Well it's kinda interesting because I was like, I think I got the job, but then I ended up getting rejected.
