And I think that's a real possibility with how the draft lottery shook out last night.
Really quickly, just to sort of put a bow on it, something that I heard is like the team approach, the idea of a full team being brought in, I think is beginning to take some shape.
I agree with Rick that the timeline's not expedited here, that that matches what I'm hearing, but I do think there's some possibility that a president of hockey operations could be announced even before the draft, sort of expediting Rutherford's shift to being a consultant.
And I do think that there's going to be a need to fill both roles, given that, like, I don't think that it's decided yet that Rutherford's going to be, like, in Vancouver.
Like, this step back from the day-to-day is going to be a pretty significant shift here for the organization.
And, you know, that's a lot of experience going out the door.
I mean, as much experience as anyone's got in the league, right?
So, you know, experience has been a big theme of this search, as Rick will tell you, right?
sort of see how Rutherford's departure from the day-to-day part of running hockey operations influences not just who is the president and the general manager, but the timeline with which those two people are named.
But I wouldn't be stunned if this is like an omnibus announcement of sort of more significant hockey operations leadership, like a team being unveiled to the fan base when the final I's are dotted and the T's crossed.
