And I just remember thinking that was one of those plays that is a veteran quarterback type of play where you understand you're not winning the battle in the pocket there.
You've got to dump it off quickly.
And we saw that.
Going back to the drops.
What people have to realize if they follow this season long, that's not a new thing.
That's a Bears leading the NFL in drops and the yardage that they sacrifice through drops because they just have not been good enough and consistent enough.
And you could argue, well, Caleb doesn't always give the runners ball, especially early in the season, right?
He was facing all kinds of issues.
But as Caleb started to take his leap โ
Some of the receivers, like the Olamide Zaccheuses of the world, and this is why they got less snaps and less targets as time went on, were not bringing in footballs.
And so that's when you saw the rise of the newer guys.
Luther Burton III comes to mind, Colston Loveland, obviously, before recently having not as strong a game.
But those guys kind of went with Caleb.
And that's what makes you so excited about the future.
And still at the same time, looking at this game performance and saying, oh, so much has been made out of the 70%, right?
That's the target.
You're not going to get to 70% when people are dropping passes all the time.
