There you go.
We got another one here in Texas.
We're going to go to Haji, and then Aiden's got one, and then we'll bring aboard Cam Moon.
Bob, 1979, I was just dipping my toe into the NHL.
I wasn't yet worldly, and the Hudson Bay Hunters of the Pasqua Hockey League was the extent of my hockey knowledge.
Then my friend showed up at school with a white jersey encrusted with a funny-looking C on the front and the number 10 on the back, L.A.
Flower.
I proclaimed quizzically, Nola Fleur, he exclaimed.
I promptly waited for my dad to tie up my Lang skates
And then I leaned over and dad said, I want a LaFleur jersey.
His facial expression, says Haji, was quite something.
Turned into anger and he said, your grandfather was an orangeman who fought in the World War II.
He would not haunt us if you cheered for Montreal draft dodging.
This is Haji's text.
He says...
I did not understand the next day a blue and orange number 99 jersey was perfectly folded on my hockey bag.
Dad said, son, this will be, this is a 1979 with Haji, this will be the best player in the world.
And someday very soon you'll be in awe of this Gretzky kid.
Dad wasn't wrong.
Although as we currently sit in 2026, ole, ole, ole, ole is much more profound than the Oilers.
