And you know, one thing I know about your agency and within your detection, you guys also i in and I would call this I mean it's it's it's gaining traction a lot more over the years and and a lot of people that follow this podcast and follow me know that I've always been a big fan of the use of a marker.

And you guys actually use clickers within your detection program, correct?

Yeah, no, that's again another controversial thing depending on what circles you run in.

Um, but no, I and again, I've known you I've known your program for a lot of years.

Um, and it's and it's been you said you guys are a part of a large uh canine program.

So when you guys finished your school, you go back to your unit and you go to work.

Now talk us through a little bit of what that

looks like.

You guys, I know you guys specifically kind of focus on the highway interdiction.

So you're doing a lot on the I-5 corridor area and you know surrounding roadways or highways, I should say.

Um talk us through a little bit about that.

I know you guys work in teams as well.

So just kind of give us a overall view of what it's like we know within your guys' program working as a dog handler.

Yeah, and obviously you and I talked about that at the seminar and and I got to see it firsthand i in a sense of like he gets out and like you said, he is a hardwired GSP to be like

I want to focus on whatever I can flush out of a bush and point at.

And you know, it's such an internal motivator for him that even though he gets paid with his toy and he gets a due detection, that and that brings up a unique point that doesn't get covered as much in the detection dog world is dealing with competing motivators.

And in this case, this dog has an internal competing motivator, which is genetically wired into him.

He wants to hunt and flash.

So with that, he, you know, you've had to battle with, no, I don't want you to pay attention to what you genetically want to do.
