Now, if you've got outstanding buy now, pay later, going back to the budget, looking at what you can do to try and pay it off quicker, obviously speaking to your buy now, pay later
provider and talking to them about what terms and conditions they can put you on, like a hardship or a separate payment plan to get you back on top, and then the changes that you make going forward so you stop repeating history.
So really sort of looking at what you're doing.
If you've got a mortgage, speaking to a mortgage broker about negotiating a better rate, calling your bank, asking them to beat
new customer's rate or at least match it.
But looking at your debt goals, how far into your home loan are you?
If you took out a recent home loan, have you got 28 years to go?
Or are you making extra payments?
Have you got 17 years to go?
Really get some clarity.
And most people are already doing the best they can possibly do right now with managing their debts.
But having that clarity will then help you going forward when you go to spend money or use money and think, oh, is that the right thing?
Maybe I should maybe redirect that money towards paying that off a bit sooner.
He puts you back in the driving seat again with that simple awareness.
Exactly.
Like money that you've got sitting on debt is obviously money that's not being compounded to grow your wealth and financial independence.
So this is why I've sort of combined the two together.
So getting very clear about your debt, and then you can, for some people who are already debt-free and have done all the work and have managed their money,
Looking at your investing, are you investing on a regular basis?
Are you making the most of all the opportunities?
