I was bullied in secondary school and it's the reason why I left and went travelling.
So it's part of my story and I don't have any regrets in life.
I think everything that I've come through and went through is part of my journey and has made me who I am today.
So
Yeah, I moved then for two years to an all-girls school.
Still have good friends from that, but that wasn't easy either.
And then that's why I made the choice to get away from the north and head south to Dublin for college.
Went to UCD and I'd done social science for three years, sociology and geography, with the hope of eventually being a secondary school teacher back then.
Ended up not doing that at all and went to the Middle East then after final year in uni.
And did you do TEFL or teaching English as a foreign language?
I done my PGCE through University of Sunderland overseas programme and I was able to teach there without a teaching degree, you just need your initial university degree to get started.
Now it's different, they've changed the rules and things but
I'd done it in Qatar through the University of Sunderland.
There were seven of us, like two girls from America, two from Dublin that I went over with.
Then we met two more Irish, but we met a great group of Irish guys and the rugby club, we played rugby and there was one rugby club, one Irish bar.
And now it's so different now, you know, but yeah, it was definitely a culture shock.
And could you drink in the bar then?
Yeah, all day drinking Fridays were a thing.
Weekends used to be Friday, Saturday.
Yeah, it was the wildest two years of my life in Qatar.
