And so it's the presence of the wise men in that nativity scene that is incorrect.
But what we really want to see is get behind the factual faux pas here that's happened.
And let's recognize these men, knowing the Hebrew scriptures somehow, knew a Messiah was coming.
And when they noticed this star, this astronomical thing that happened in the sky, they somehow connected it to the birth of the Messiah.
And they came looking.
Friends, I'm curious.
Do you recognize a king has been born?
Do you know that God has sent His only Son into the world to forgive sin and to bring people to a place of adoption in God's family?
Are you seeking Him?
Do you want to know Him?
This Christmas season, you could receive the greatest gift ever given to mankind.
It's the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who came to this earth to redeem us and bring us back to God.
Like these wise men, I want to encourage you, seek Him this year.
If you already know Jesus as your personal Savior, seek Him all the more, knowing that the Christmas season is a special celebration of God's love come to earth.
Our Father, we are grateful for this passage that teaches us about these wise men, these magi from the East, who came to worship the King of Israel.
Lord, whatever they knew, would you teach it to us?
Show us the grandeur and the glory of who Jesus is and reveal to us through your scriptures how we are to serve him as his people.
May we, like the wise men, come to adore him, come to worship him as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords this Christmas.
Our Lord Jesus, we love you.
Thank you for becoming our Messiah and Savior.
