It's crazy.
I received an email about a women's leadership conference and so I went in, had a look at all the speakers and what they're all gonna be talking about and there is nothing here that actually shows the reality of being a female leader, giving eighty six percent of women will actually have children.
And then I called it out on LinkedIn and I said, why aren't conferences talking about the realities of being a working parent for both male and female?
I've even seen it in HR conferences.
There is nothing about it.
And so it just makes you believe that to be a female leader, you don't talk about what it's like to be a mum and go up against at times some really significant barriers and a system that isn't necessarily
Designed to support you either.
And you're going, why don't we talk about this enough?
We need to start.
calling it out, stop being, yes, this is what a leadership is and it doesn't involve as you're saying, you need to bring your whole true self to all parts of your life.
Not just a little scary c of what people think it might be.
What if someone thought, All right, I'm just one little person, what change am I actually going to make, save returning back into work and and challenging the status quo and actually saying, Well, you know, maybe I wanna work part time and negotiate and and things like that, that maybe they've been told, Right, you've got to come back full time you're like, Well, no, I don't want to and that doesn't
sit well for me.
We could always be the good girl of actually this is what I'm gonna accept.
Uh, you know, 'cause the you know, the good girl would be that they go back five days and say, Yes, sir, three bags full, sir, I'm very grateful for my job back.
as opposed to saying, Well, I would like to work four days in a hybrid situation and actually have support and to be able to see my child.
And no one else is probably gonna come to that reality.
No one you're not gonna get this knock on the door, Hey, this isn't working for you.
There's no there's no little fairy that's actually gonna do that.
And it might be quite difficult for you to actually go through that process.
