It's a little signal that's come out about coagulopathies and thrombus and COVID.
Can you tell us about that?
great and uh this will be many more avenues for even more uh covid chats in the future i'm sure well helen thank you for for bringing it up it's it's definitely interesting and as helen said that came from some listeners so if you are interested in knowing some more about that or um have any points to make or about anything else then do go to bmj.com slash podcast and you can find out how to get in touch with us
So, Helen, I think this is going to end up in a rant with Carl.
So let's come to you for a start.
Yet again, you've been looking at testing.
You just can't stop, can you?
So I suppose I'm going to move us on, but not totally on, because last week in a discussion about the UK response, Carl, you said something that stuck with me, which is that there's a difference between evidence and the science, and that when the government says they're sticking by the science, that doesn't actually mean that they're doing the best thing.
Science is about debate, not about certainty.
Helen, you wanted to talk about this.
So what's going on there?
and taking that information into the decisions a lot there to talk about and someone who's written about that um for stat helen is finney prasad
That was Vinay Prasad, Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University.
So Carl, if you were asked, would you go and join one of these advisory boards talking to the government about such an important thing right now?
Well, I think that is a nice point to round out this episode of Talk Evidence on.
Helen, Carl, thanks very much for joining us again this week.
As we've said throughout this, we want to know what you think about the evidence.
Is there anything else that you want us to talk about?
Do you agree with Carl's rant or not?
Go to bmj.com slash podcast where you can find out how to get in touch and we can feed that into the show.
