The dark forest theory is that you can't trust an alien race because by the time you could even communicate with them, they could also be destroying you at the same time.
And that is, you know, kind of a bleak outlook.
But I don't necessarily buy into that because when I started to put together, like, Rocky's species, I said, like, okay, what are the qualities a life form would need in order to become an intelligent life form?
And not just an intelligent life form, but one that can make spacecraft, like, to get to that level of technological development.
Right, yeah.
And I said, what is the bear minimum you need?
What do you need?
And I said, well, first off, they have to be tribal.
