The moment it becomes cool, publishing starts funding the growth and trying to meet the demand.
And then the marketing money starts to flow to make sure that they are meeting the demand.
And that is the rise of the trend that we saw because publishers were publishing romance for a really long time.
But this is when they thought, okay,
You know, how can we make sure that we're printing more copies, making sure that we're delivering on all the needs of this genre and all the sub genres within the genre to make sure that they are
capitalizing essentially on what's happening because they have all this great romance content.
Number three is peak, right?
So it's no longer a subculture.
We start to see things like romance bookstores popping up all over the place.
Nothing is taboo anymore.
This is something I find really interesting because erotica as a book concept has been around for a very long time.
It used to be kind of just tucked at the back of the store at the very back of the romance section.
And now everything's kind of pulled to the front.
We know that the
book covers are not kind of hiding anything necessarily, but they're like very playful, very front and center in the bookstores.
And this is when we start to see branching out into subcultures.
This is when we start to see romanticy.
We start seeing people kind of challenging the norm and they want to start to pivot to something kind of quote unquote cool again.
