In a bid to boost its ranks, the U.S.
Army is raising its enlistment age limit from 35 to 42 and doing away with a restriction for a single marijuana conviction.
Previously, that conviction would have required a waiver from the Pentagon and the passing of a drug test.
The age change aligns the Army with the Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard and Navy, which permit recruits over 40.
The Marine Corps, though, caps enlistment at 28.
The minimum age to join any branch remains 18 or 17 with parental consent.
The Army's changes go into effect April 20th.
