In a way that keeps you in the expert identity.

And I will say this: there are times where saying yes to a lot of rooms makes sense.

Especially when you're earlier in your speaking journey, you need to get the reps in.

You need to get in front of audiences.

You need to practice your material.

You need to see what lands.

You need to learn which rooms light you up and which rooms drain you.

And I have absolutely done this.

And I mostly presented in rooms of women entrepreneurs since that was my target market.

This was about a year into my business and I was invited to

give a presentation to a group of entrepreneurs.

So this was both men and women, and it was a small group, it was about twenty of them.

And I knew going in that this was not quite my target market.

And this group of entrepreneurs were not service based, they were kind of manufacturing and industrial.

So very, very different from the types of clients I had worked with so far.
