People with autism have it.
And I've talked to Temple Grandin and I asked her this specifically because there are different takes on it.
Some people say, oh, a lot of people with autism have SPD, but Temple says, absolutely.
Everyone has it.
And
In fact, she says oversensitivity is the biggest issue among people with autism.
They're always trying to filter out sensations that bother them.
She said auditory problems are particularly hard for people with autism.
She said it's like living your life with your head inside an amplifier.
Or clothes burn and scratch and seams are
terrible and anything that isn't cotton or, you know, the, or silk might really, really bother, bother people.
Okay.
But again, I diverge.
Um, the, the discussion is SPD and other neuro differences.
Um, so there's a great deal of interest in it and people are studying it.
Lucy Jane Miller, um,
who has been the primary investigator in SPD for many years.
And Lucy is one of Dr. Jean Eyre's disciples, in fact.
Lucy and another therapist, Royanne Ahn, looked at kids who were taking an assessment test called the LIDAR-R.
