As of october twenty twenty five, the United Nations Satellite Center reports that eighty two percent of Abdullah's home city of Rafah has been destroyed.
This is what they call a domicide, the mass destruction of housing and civilian infrastructure.
During the January 2025 ceasefire, Abdallah had returned to Rafah to go see what remained in the rubble of his home.
At that point, he said about 50% of Rafah had been destroyed.
This time, in August 2025, as he was passing through his city for one final time, his entire city seemed to be reduced to rubble.
When you think of your home city of Rafa, do you think of it in times before the genocide or do you when you picture it in your mind or do you picture it the way you last saw it?

That's beautiful that it stayed in your mind as the Rafa of before the genocide, of that family of being so close to the people you love.
