Do you know what I mean?
So I actually need to be alone.
And the more I expose myself to it, the more you can actually get numb to it.
Then you have to find a different creator for their content.
So that is very much just an example of finding what works for you.
But then there are things that objectively are helpful for everyone, that everyone should have in their back pocket.
I think we're in an age where wellness is an industry, it's money, and we're constantly trying to rebrand and remarket and find new ways to sell something as simple as breathwork or something as simple as going for a walk.
And that's attractive and that's exciting and that people are looking for something they can latch on to, a whole identity, a whole ideology, a whole culture they can embed themselves into and be like, this is who I am now and this is going to transform me.
When you strip back all those layers and you just look at something like breath work, which again, I used to be like, whatever, like that is not going to make any difference to me.
When you just look at the physiological, like what's happening, the sequence of events in your body that happens when you do that, when you have like a slower out breath and you take away all the fanfare and you take away all that, like you don't need to be in Lululemon to do it.
Like, it's so basic and actually boring and simple.
Those are the things that signal safety to your body.
And even if it's just for a few minutes, over time, the more you can access that safety, the more your brain will say, right, we can stand down the troops here.
We're not needed.
Mm.
And it doesn't mean you have to not think anxiously.
Your parasympathetic, your sympathetic nervous system.
It's completely just allowed.
Like if you're going for a walk, which I would have been like, well, a walk's not going to make a difference.
But when you're walking rhythmically and calmly, even if you're still feeling anxious and you're worrying about something, you're ruminating about something, your brain is signaling to your body.
