And it feels to me that one of the things we absolutely need matched
To make 110% sure of is that that is not the case, both because of the morality of that position, but also because if you do that, then you certainly don't bring people with you. matched
So I think in order to get us closer together, I think we could listen to more citizens' assemblies and to make sure that citizens' assemblies on climate are genuinely representative of the communities that they're in. matched
So it's not just people who think like me, but a genuine cross-section of the public who by and matched
Large when they're asked these questions, actually do come together with quite bold policies, much bolder than most governments, and do kind of point the way forward. matched

I mean. matched
First of all, I would agree with Rory actually that offshoring, if if that means also that, for example, China is the country that then has to put the emissions associated with the products that it's making for us on their account sheet, that is fundamentally wrong. matched
And so we should take account of our consumption emissions, the emissions that are associated with what we import, as well as our production emissions. matched
But secondly, we're also responsible for historic. matched

They have heated the environment. matched
They didn't go away. matched
And if you look at this issue about the number of countries who could say, well, we're only responsible for about 1% of total emissions, around 190. matched
ninety-four countries can claim to be less than five percent of the problem. matched
But together, if you add them together, they're responsible for just under half of the world's yearly emissions. matched
In uh in other words, we have a responsibility that goes far beyond that one percent. matched
Well, I think we need to make it so much clearer and so much more evident that the measures that we need, by and large, to address the climate crisis are ones that will benefit people's lives. matched
