What do you think?
Every single worker has told me it has made their job better.
more interesting, safer, less boring.
It doesn't hurt them.
And I was at a factory actually several days ago, and we were having this very conversation.
And the leader who was bringing me around pointed to the autonomous vehicle that was driving around and bringing parts from location to location.
And he said to me, three years ago, we would have had
forklift drivers, people out there doing that job.
But now I can take those individuals and train them in something else and have them do the next thing.
They are maintaining the autonomous vehicle.
They are programming it.
They are managing the supply chain system that is going through.
So with this structural challenge that we face, we have the opportunity to free up potential talent to give them something that is more inherently human.
And also that goes along with that is more interesting and more durable and probably higher paying than those very entry-level repetitive roles.
And the good news is that all of those things make it very appealing to the next generation who grew up with all of these technologies.
To that point, a couple of years ago, we did a survey and found that for employees under 25 years of age, 69% of them told us that they stay at their current employer because of training and development opportunities.
65% said they stay because of career opportunities.
So that engagement and those ladders
is really desirable and it helps feed both sides of the system.
It's absolutely going to make it easier for you to recruit and it's going to absolutely help you retain that workforce.
