So maybe they're hoarse, they're raspy, their voice is breathy or gravelly or strained.

There's so many different words that we can use to describe it.

But in some way the vocal quality is different.

It could also be that they have differences in volume, rate,

or pitch, we call that porosity, that's that whole area.

We also have um curriculum for those whose voices are too nasal, meaning that there's too much air going through the nose, or maybe they sound like they have a stuffy nose.

There's not enough air going through the nose.

So that's the resonance piece.

We have a program for, or well, these programs are helpful for kids who are frequently losing their voice.

That can be an indicator of voice problems.

And then those who have been diagnosed with some sort of a

structural difference.

So maybe they have vocal nodules or a cleft lip or palate, or even motor disorders like apraxia and dysarthria.

All of those can affect these areas.

So that's kind of who we're looking at here.

But these curriculums, the voice and resonance ones, but also ones for our other areas, were really designed with the whole team in mind.

My goal is to make sure that everyone on the team, parents and teachers, SLPs, SLPAs, everyone who's working with this child has access to this same tools, supports, and strategies so that we can help this child.
