perfect world well if they can if they can stay competitive and they're you know going into i think the brewers are losing or lost today uh so they're they're either nine or ten games in the lost column behind the brewers they're fighting for a wild card is that good enough to give up two or three of your top young players in your system

for two months of scuba to try to win the world series in other words are they are they good enough with the addition of scuba at his best right we're assuming they'll be at his best is that worthwhile they won't be the only team asking that question right there'll be numerous teams

including maybe yours, looking and saying, does he put us over the top or are we giving up two or three players that can help us win over the next four or five years?

So I think the Cubs might be in that situation.

If they hang around and they're 500, they're a wild card chance, which they should be.

But again, the Cardinals are better in their division.

Pittsburgh has really good starting pitching.

Will they add more to that going down the line here in another month?

You know, there's a lot of question marks for the Cubs, but they were in all in this offseason by adding Bregman at age 32, paying $175 million.

They felt they have veteran pitchers on their team.

They felt they have a young star in PCA that's going to lead the way, and he's probably going to do that.

He's sure showing signs of that over the last month.

So there are good players on the team, but are they good enough to give up some of that young talent to try to get Scooble and win?

I'll just tell you this, Jeff, after this year,

they lose most of their pitching staff.

They're almost all free agents other than Ben Brown, who's been a revelation for them coming out of the bullpen and now being one of their best starters.

Javier Assad, they have, you know, they have Steele, who's supposed to come back after almost two years of missing pitching because of Tommy John surgery and then

re-injuring it a little bit earlier in the year.

So they don't have a lot.

I would say they will be one of the teams that will try to win a World Series, and they will attempt to add somebody like Schuvel if they're close.
