It was really like he'd only again, he'd only been in town for a month, maybe a month and a half.

And then, you know, Chauncey gets walked out.

And then the staff, which, again, a bunch of guys who, you know, had only really known each other from the time they'd been in Portland.

Nate Bjorkren, who obviously was a head coach in Indiana.

You know, the story was that they had initially thought that Nate was going to take the job.

But then they Nate had said that he thought it should go to Tiago.

And so for him to get kind of thrown into that situation, I thought he did a fantastic job dealing with it.

I mean, there's there's obviously no manual approach.

of instructions to tell you like, hey, this is how you go about getting your team focused and ready to play when your head coach just got federally indicted.

So I think for him to be able to get that team together, the coaching staff together, the staff at the practice facility, and to get them refocused on the task at hand, I thought he did a fantastic job of that.

I won't say they moved on quickly from it because obviously, you know, there was a lot of guys on the team that were close to Chauncey and, you know, a lot of the reasons why they wanted to be in Portland was because of Chauncey.

So it wasn't like it just resolved itself right away.

But I was really struck by how quickly...

the organization under Tiago was able to, again, get everyone kind of back on the same page and to get them focused on playing games the next day.

And I think, you know, after a couple days of, you know, questions about Chauncey and how the team was dealing with it and, you know, Tiago really kind of getting thrown again into a situation that, you know, he really didn't sign up for.
