I'm wondering, what did you want to say about the nature of friendship here?

So do you think that there is space in a romantic relationship between

to have the kind of intensity of friendship that Roisin and Gabby have.

Is it possible just to have two such passionate relationships going side by side or is it inevitable that one of them has to break?

They really see each other.

You have this sense that they are intense soulmates.

And as Gabby said, sort of two sides of the same coin, I suppose.

I want to talk now a little bit about how Lovesick came to be published.

You mentioned there that it's something you started working on when you were in your late teens.

As we know, you'd always had the ambition since you were very young to be a writer.

You then had had a couple of short stories published in literary journals.

And I understand you've had two manuscripts shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards, and one of them was Lovesick.

You won a couple of mentorships for the book.

So I'm wondering, how did it sort of go from that stage to ultimately finding a home with HQ Fiction?

Did the book have to go through much further revision after that?

Because I imagine after so many years of working on it, you were probably sick to death of it.

Usually it's the acronym NQR.
