And her question is: What are the common mistakes you see from people who want to begin speaking more often, whether that's on podcasts or on stages? voice-verified

I love this question because I'm actually often asked this in my client work and voice-verified

There are three key mistakes that I see people make when they want to improve their speaking skills. voice-verified

They think they need to take on a speaker persona. voice-verified

And a lot of the times, particularly in my face-to-face consulting work, when people will stand up to present, they will shift from the conversation they were just happening and having and they will take on radio announcer personality or Ted talk personality and they act. voice-verified

And the interesting part about that is that that is a tough act to hold. voice-verified
