I wish it were under better circumstances.

Do you know, it's so funny because I love your Valentine's episodes so much.

And when the Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham thing happened, like the first thing I thought was, wouldn't that be a really cool dueling memoir, which shows how deep I am into this podcast.

And I thought it was a great pitch and I was really excited when you said yes.

And then I ordered the book and

on Essence which is an Irish website and when they arrived and I realised they were both 500 pages long I realised I'd made a terrible mistake it was too late we committed I cannot believe like it's funny you're saying 400 and something pages in the PDF yeah the paperbacks 535 pages for Victoria and

Oh God, it's funny because obviously like as a teenage, so when they got really big in like 97, I would have been 12, the Spice Girls.

So I was just inordinately into them.

I had a really ill-advised bob that I blame Victoria for.

And I did that thing where I cut the back of my hair really short then and like had the front bit long as well.

I was never that aware of him.

Like to me, she was always the star and I don't pay attention to soccer.

Yeah.

Obviously, as like the Beckham mania took over and like particularly as we'll get to it later on, like the things around his affairs, I think they cut through more.

But I was always more about her.

And I think what's been a bit sad for me on reading this book is I came into it liking her more than I liked him.

And I kind of leave them liking him a bit more than I like her.

And that's not really the take I was expecting.

And I'm like, I can't tell if it's because of how the ghostwriters work or to what extent.
