Anthony Baines was at a stop sign on his way to pick up a customer in Houston, Texas, when he noticed a man with no shirt or shoes sprinting by.

Suddenly, an officer jumped into the passenger seat, a moment that was captured by his dash cam.

Over the next three minutes, Baines joined the late night pursuit.

First, he picked up another officer, and then he drove around as they searched for their man.

The suspect had allegedly threatened a woman and her children with a gun during a dispute.

They weren't able to catch him, but the incident has raised questions about what the police can reasonably ask of citizens.

Baines wasn't legally required to drive, but he reportedly said he felt he'd been given an order.
