My hair was done.

And I turned up to the auditions and it was maybe 30 minutes towards the end.

So I nearly didn't make it.

And they sent me home.

They sent me home and I thought that was it.

So, yeah.

So you go into like a makeshift diary room and you have to sell yourself.

You get maybe 15, 20 seconds.

And I basically, when they said go, I said, hi, I'm Chantel, I'm from Essex.

And I said nothing.

I didn't know what to say.

I literally didn't know.

It was the worst audition I've ever done.

I did not know what else to say.

And so I thought, oh, I've messed that up, you know.

But I went home and I thought that was it.

Yeah.

So I got a telephone call that night and I thought it was one of my friends winding me up because I'd obviously told people that I'd gone for the audition.

And the person at the end of the telephone said that they wanted me to come back for another audition.
