Appearances
We had injuries to Ryan Leonard, Callum Stiles, George Honeyman, Murray Wallace, Mason Bennett, Sean Hutchinson.
They're ones that I can just name off the top of my head.
And these are big players.
Maybe not our best players, but players that really bring leadership.
How vital could it have been to have Honeyman and Wallace
in the last games, just from a leadership standpoint, is so important.
The other fact that I want to bring out here is we were only able to play, and I've double checked this stat, but if it's wrong, I apologise, but it looks right and it sounds right.
We were only able to name a consistent 11 eight times all season, which is really poor.
And I think that
Now, I didn't look into how much of that was by choice and how much of that was by injury.
But I think judging by what I just said, a lot of it would have been down to injury.
And you can't plan for things like that.
You go away to Blackpool, you produce a fantastic performance.
Leonard comes in, almost man of the match performance, and he has to come out again because he's injured.
How do you legislate for stuff like that?
And I think...
That is poor.
And I also think that the amount of times where we just needed someone to step up and I will draw on Wigan away here.
I will draw on, you know, the games at home where we couldn't break teams down like Hull.
I will draw on the Blackburn game where you wanted someone to step up and be a leader and be accountable.
