Issue with a C four, which is you don't get a charitable deduction when you give money to a C four.
But the Schwinnard family didn't care about that.
They hadn't been taking giant income, so they didn't have any d they didn't have any income to

So one of the reasons people don't use C4s wasn't meaningful for the Chenard family.
That's why we went with this um particular structure, which other folks hadn't done up to that point in time.

Um and that's why we use that structure.
You could just use the C four.
But the this this perpetual trust um provides a
Genuinely long term stewardship for the values that guide both that trust and the C four structure.
Um it what we were looking for.
Obviously, the family could have tried to pass the shares to the second generation.
Lots of families try and do that.
The Schoenards have al always given away.
Um most of the money that comes from Patagonia.
But all of the family, including the second generation, the the kids of Yvonne Melinda.
