certainly our pleasure and you've certainly written a uh fascinating and I I guess I would have to say somewhat controversial book.

I I'm curious though, I mean this is an issue that a lot of people would indeed find somewhat controversial, is this relationship between uh robot building and God, which some finds somewhat incompatible, but how can these two be related?

I see.

And what are sort of the motivations that for humans for actually building these robots then?

Indeed.

So one of the stories you mentioned early on is the stories of like the Jewish traditions of the Golem stories.

Yes.

And how you could actually see the two points of views in those stories as well.

How does this relate to our motivation, the understanding robots and ourselves?

Indeed.

Harder to discount.

Well one of the parallels you sort of allude to is the fact that science is in a somewhat of a religion itself.

Mm-hmm.

Almost fanatical one might say.

Sort of reconciling all these different stories together again.

So while you're at MIT I you worked with these Cog and Kismet robots.

So I'm wondering if you could talk a little bit about that.

I mean, uh I recall in the book you mentioned even a very simple computer program written in the sixties was able to draw.
