almost like a natural like rebellion against uh some of the the rules let's say that were um we i was what you should do after that album it's like it was just i don't know i don't know if that makes sense it's like no totally yeah so it was like okay well we should go to europe that was like a good thing it was like we should go to europe to make this album because we made a lot of brat
Yeah, just, like, wanting to avoid certain sonic choices, you know?
Like, okay, we're not going to use, like, Razor Bass on this record.
Like, we're going to explore, like, starting songs with guitar riffs rather than, you know, in Logic or whatever.
And then, I don't know, like...
approaching the songwriting sort of differently through this kind of lens of talking about, I don't know, like the process of making things.
And actually, you know what I think?
Brat taught me, which was a big fuel for this record was like, it made me think about why I love doing what I do and how thankful I am to be able to do what I do.
And that
was a big fuel for this album.
You know, like I felt so grateful after the success of Brat and I never thought I would be in that position.
You know, as you said at the beginning of this, I'm like the opposite of an overnight success story.
Like I was very at peace with like,
where i was and what i was doing and when i made brat and i've spoken about this a lot i really just thought like okay it was over i'm gonna be dropped but i'm doing this as like this is just inherently like what i want to make yeah it didn't go that way but like and i'm very you know it
It's cool that it did.
