But to me, that almost feels like a distraction to what's going on below it, which is the Stephen Miller administration, which is regardless of how stupid and ignorant and ridiculous and lazy a lot of the Trump actions are.
In parallel, there is really real fascistic policies being enacted by people who know what they're doing.
And that is a big difference also, we've talked about this many times, between this Trump term and his previous term as president, where the previous one
They did a really poor job of staffing government bureaucrats who had actual bureaucratic capabilities of knowing how to get things done.
And what they've done in this administration this time around is they learned from that.
And now they have people who work under Stephen Miller who are professional government bureaucrats who actually can get these things done.
And it's scary because as we, again, laugh at the ridiculousness, these policies are being enacted.
They are being used against leftists, against people of color, against queer people.
And again, Stephen Miller, just as a reminder for folks, has a drastic history of white nationalism that's on the record that goes all the way back to when he was in high school in Santa Monica, when he stood up and gave speeches about why he shouldn't be required to pick up his own trash because there were
Hispanic janitors who were hired to do that for him when he was on the school bus in high school, going off about why we should be torturing people in the Middle East.
We shouldn't be killing them because killing them means that they don't remember the torture.
If we torture them, that means they have to survive with those memories.
He was at Duke where he led a white nationalist paper.
If people know the name Richard Spencer, the self-identified neo-Nazi, you might remember him getting punched in the face on live television a few years back.
