Ideally, you have transformed the meaning as well.
But there is a sonic purpose, which is like, let's hear the memorable part one more time to make a hit.
And instead of giving you the thing you expect, it drops down one more time so that she can really tell you her message.
And boy, is it vengeful.
It also makes you think about that final chorus a little differently.
