The founding fathers put in their letter to King George a direct appeal to Christ our Lord.
And yet I have to be lectured that the founding fathers were secular.
Separation of church and state appears zero times in our founding documents.
It does not exist.
What does appear is the establishment clause, which is that Congress shall make no law.
It gets misinterpreted by secular left wing revisionist judges by saying, well, that means that government cannot get involved at all in making truth claims.

The better way of looking at it is wait a second, Congress cannot say that we have the Presbyterian Church, the Episcopal Church, but they never envisioned a time where we'd have secular godless leaders reigning terror over our country.
Instead, it was Adams who said the Constitution was written solely for a moral and religious people.
It is wholly inadequate for any other type of people.
If we stop being moral and religious, the Constitution stops being the law of the land.
