There was some, you know, off-ice controversies with regards to the Mopi Mishkoff and Rick Tockett.
It was tough, but give these guys all the credit in the world.
Over the Olympic break, they found a way to reset.
They got healthy.
They got more energy.
Rick Tockett made some structural changes.
He made some key lineup changes.
And they just stormed out of the gate after the Olympic break and played their best hockey of the season.
There was a point on March 10th where โ
They were nine points out of a playoff spot.
They were 10 points out of the playoff spot that they would ultimately get, which was the third seed in the Metro.
Teams don't pick up that many points in a month.
It just doesn't happen, especially with, you know, the loser point and how close things are in terms of parity in the NHL these days.
And the Flyers earned their way.
And now they've got help.
You know, the New York Islanders, the Columbus Blue Jackets both collapsed over the stretch and
If they would have held serve, the Flyers wouldn't have mattered how well they did.
But the Flyers played well enough to put themselves into a position to take advantage of the collapses of the other teams in front of them, enough of the other teams in front of them.
And now they're back in the playoffs.
And I can tell you that the fans were as excited as I've seen them in a long time.
