Why do you think the shark let her go?

I mean, I know it's speculative, but what is it?

So my initial reflection, and I think what probably guided my decision making at the time was the opinion that had figured out that she wasn't a seal.

And moved on.

However, since the incident, I've had conversations with the shark experts trying to essentially log the data of the shark attack.

that talked about how great whites, it's really typical for them to, if you use a seal as an example, go in and bite off the fins so they're immobile and then just inflict as much damage as possible so that they bleed out and then can come in with the least amount of risk to them.

Because if a shark injures its eyes or its nose or its gills or any of its senses, it's not going to survive.

It's dependent on those things.

So it's common for it to swim away and then come back once it's safe for them and actually eat.

Which is once it's demobilized you, it comes back and just like feeds on your carcass.

Yeah.
