Yeah, that's the kind of details that I don't have a clear grasp on.

I definitely know there were three really close to it.

So the girl who initially saw the shark and her friend who was swimming together and then Leah who was out doing the swim on her own.

There was one or two that were closer to me in terms of the whole beach.

I don't know, I didn't really capture that information.

But as I started paddling over closer, I could see this thing, and it was moving really slowly and almost inquisitively.

And my interactions with sharks, usually you go, if you can see it, and it's moving in a relaxed manner, you feel pretty safe.

Because one, you know to get out of the water.

And two, if they don't want to be seen, they won't be seen kind of thing.

And so I thought the shark would kind of figure out that they weren't a seal, they weren't food, and move on.

And about halfway on my paddle towards them, where I just thought I was going to be going over, picking up on my board, and it would be a bit of a fright and getting to the beach, that was when it actually started pushing Leah around.

And I went, okay, this is a pretty different situation, something I've never been in before.

Yeah, it's really hard because it was all underwater and I wasn't right next to it to say what happened.

Obviously, she definitely got bitten at one point, but I don't know how much of it was, as I mentioned, the first girl who saw it said the shark just brushed up against her.

So how much of it was just inquiring as to what these people were.

But yeah, I could definitely see her getting moved around and there was already so much panic.

I don't know if it had initially bitten her at that point, but it definitely escalated from there.

I spend a lot of time in the water, as I mentioned, and

Funnily enough I'd never seen one whilst paddling on that board and I spent a lot of time on that board going up and down the coast.

Which is so weird but I've seen plenty of sharks just through other training experiences, going out surfing and then we spent a lot of time up the coast in a fishing village where there's just so much more wildlife that you just, there's local shark nests and you see them coming across the bay all the time.
