Uh they're say many of them are saying they're operating

Uh the um and the and the supermarkets then tend to fall back on importing from across Europe.

The same problem with trout is hitting the vegetable producers across Europe.

The potato crop down heat this year is one of the it's uh it's likely to be at a seven year low of the yield.

Uh chose crisps, for example, were telling News Talk the other day.

Yeah.

Tom Kyo, that their potato yield could be down forty percent.

Forty percent.

So your chips are gonna get deer, your potatoes are gonna get deer, you know, the humble spud is gonna be more expensive.

So you know, and uh i i if beef then, you know, beef prices have been falling at the at the farm gates because people have been eating less meat.

We've been importing quite a bit from the UK, Australia, New Zealand.

So, you know, but that that that's been hit as well because farmers are uh there's a follower crisis.

They're having to use fodder, they're having to use, you know, feed uh animals that uh no that normally would eat our or our grass, but the grass is not growing.

So all of this has massive implications for our food and our you know in um

It could I mean food prices themselves could be up five percent.

You could be looking at a couple of hundred Euros here on the annual bill for your food.

Uh i and it unfortunately, Danny, it comes at a time when food inflation was kind of muted there for a while.

I mean, we did have a surge uh of twenty five percent increase over the last five years, but the last year food price inflation has been easing off.

Yeah.

But look at it in the autumn it's likely to pick up again.
