750,000 people out there have oil-fired homes.

1,000 litres is up about 500 euros already, and that went up very fast.

We have the most expensive electricity in Europe, as I was reporting yesterday.

If you have an oil-fired home with expensive electricity, it just seems to me like if you can do anything at all to increase the insulation, the energy efficiency of your home, and you can afford to do it, or you can apply for the warmer home scheme,

Really, you know, you really should be thinking about it would be my advice.

Yeah, I mean, you know, we have a lot of work to do.

It's going to take a long time in this country to sort out our issues with high costs of energy.

The fact that we import so much fossil fuel to generate our electricity is a major issue.

So, you know, there will have to be an ongoing shift to more energy efficient homes and,

you know, generating some of our own power.

And it's very satisfying as somebody who has solar panels to be feeding electricity back into the grid.

Now, you don't get a great rate.

They give you half of what they sell it to you.

But, I mean, at least you're getting something back.

You're saving money.

And it does take a while to get a payback on it.

And when we put it in, we had to pay VAT.

You don't have to pay VAT anymore.

So, yeah, the long term is this is not going away.

It's increasingly going to be an issue for us.
