It's crazy stuff.

I've long said we need to re examine our VAT rates in this country, we need to be realign them, review them.

Uh it needs to be a shake about that, whatever way you want to put it.

Um it's a real cost of living issue for people.

is is is is is likely to take off and vulnerable people are are you know, it it's a big issue for them.

It's it's it's it's it's it's uh you know it hits poorer people harder than it hits people who can of you know have lots of money, for example.

Well, look at the problem they have is the the the these fuel cut support package, the the whole package, you know, you know, the the NORA cut, the the reduction in the excise duty and diesel and petrol and the other measures they put in place for the contractors and the farmers, that whole package is a billion euros.

I mean it's a big package.

But on the other hand, you know, uh diesel prices up.

In the meantime, even though we have a thirty two cent cut in diesel uh excise duty, diesel is up nineteen cents according to that AAR.

Ireland survey, nineteen cents a litre, it's a hell of a if you start whacking on uh that you from September th those uh put restoring that that uh excise duty rate.

Remember there's carbon tax always goes up in the budget as well.

Uh there's due to be an increase in in what they call the the better energy levy, it's only small, but all of that another thirty two cents to to the price, you know.

The government needs to consider this and find ways

Yeah, look at uh across the market uh mortgage rates have bit unchanged.

There's new figures out from the central bank today, but the non bank lenders who have to go out into the market and raise money in the wholesale markets, they don't have cheap deposits to rely on like the banks.

Uh so we're talking ICS mortgages here and newem newem money.

These guys have increased their rates a second time for IC uh for um newem money and the fourth time for ICS mortgages.
