But yeah, there was a lot of time and dedication spent being like, Should the Phillies actually get a cleanup hitter for Bryce Harper?

And ultimately they didn't.

I mean, they pursued Bachette, obviously.

Um, but they it ended up being Alec Bohm again.

And there have been some problems with Bohm over the years.

He struggled, and especially to start this year, he really struggled.

But I think having a hitter like Arias behind Bryce, I think that really changes a lot.

I I don't know if we've fully seen the extent of it yet, but I I certainly think that Bryce is going to see better pitches.

Yeah, I I was pretty surprised because in the weeks leading up to the deadline, I know that's what they pers were pursuing.

That's what they were zeroing in on.

Honestly, I you all know Kevin Gossman well.

I think he would have been a a great fit for the Phillies.

Um, but I think that they struggle a little bit with the prospect capital.

And obviously the the asking prices were very high, this deadline.

And I think some of their mid-tier death in the farm system isn't quite where it is with other teams.

So I I think that really affected their pursuit of starting pitching because a lot of the prospects that other teams would have dealt from that same tier of guys in their teens and twenties in their farm system, those guys I think would be ranked better or considered more valuable by other teams than the guys in the teens and twenties for the Phillies.

Um, but yeah, I I mean they're really rolling the dice here and hoping for the best because uh I Andrew Painter, if he had spent time on the injured list, it it goes to Alan Arnhell, which

I mean, Painter is the fifth starter in the gram scheme of things.

If he gets hurt, it sort of goes back to the situation where it was before where they are just kind of alternating guys through the fifth spot.
