No, it's hugely wrong.
The figures come from the Scandinavian Journal of Immunology.
What?
Sounds like the kind of place you might see proper research.
Well, it is, but this wasn't a peer-reviewed paper, just a letter written by the two doctors mentioned by Tucker Carlson.
The letter mentions this 29 to 1,500 comparison with two sources.
And what were those sources?
While the 29 cardiac arrests a year figure, that comes from a proper piece of research that looked at sudden cardiac deaths.
They focus on athletes under the age of 35 and over a 38-year period, working out that there were 29 deaths a year after sudden cardiac events.
Interestingly, the study suggests that incidence of sudden cardiac deaths is higher in athletes than in non-athletes.
Well, the source for that was a website called GoodSciencing.com.
Yes, they seem mainly to be publishing anti-vax content with a little bit of climate change scepticism thrown in for good measure.
They have a list with a punchy title, 1,598 Athlete Cardiac Arrests or Serious Issues, 1,100 of them dead since Covid injection.
The list is made up of links to news stories and the number goes up with every case that they find.
So tell me about these cases.
Well, let's start with the most famous person on the list.
He is famous, but he's not as famous as Pele.
Well, good science can put anyone they like on their list.
But it doesn't make it comparable with the peer-reviewed study of young professional athletes.
