That's great, but why?
And they've said, I just really relate to it.
I'm like, what do you mean?
And this beautiful young man said the other day, so we were having this conversation and his colleague said to him, well, which one are you?
And he said, I'm Wendy.
And it just sort of...
I'm still completely bamboozled by that, but I don't know how that works.
I mean, I can see how it works in groups of friends and women friends, but I'm so delighted that, you know, a 25-year-old man can think he's Wendy.
One of the things at the Charles Perkins Centre, a delightful thing that I thought was hilarious happened.
One of the younger women who worked there, I worked often in the lunchroom, which was a big, beautiful, open space with lots of light.
And this young woman came and said, oh, so how's it going?
And sat down and we had a chat.
And she said, you're writing about ageing, aren't you?
And I said, yeah.
And she sort of looked at my face quite carefully for a while.
And then she said, I'm terrified of ageing.
And I was like, right, okay, well, maybe it won't be so bad for you.
But the thing is I find the fear of aging really curious because I sort of think, well, what do you think is going to happen?
You know, some people are fit and healthy, other people are not.
If you're lucky enough to get old, just... I mean, I don't know whether thinking about it in advance helps you or whatever.
