Appearances
Some are annoying, some are normal, some are great, some are not good, whatever.
But this one kind of really got me thinking.
about my own businesses, like a slap in the face.
Like, you know how sometimes you just have that moment of everything clicks and you have a bit of an epiphany.
So a client's rang, right?
She's rang the salon as they do.
And she wanted to cancel her appointment for the next day.
She was like, oh, you know, sorry, but we've got family up and everything happening.
So it's just a bit hectic and I'm not going to be able to make it in tomorrow.
And now if you've been following my journey since buying the salon back in May, you'll know that I, lucky me, inherited a business that was run very differently to how I run a business or how I wanted to run it.
The clients aren't bad people.
They're not.
So let's not take it that way.
They definitely were spoiled and they'd been taught over a long period of time what the boundaries and rules were, right?
So if they cancelled, changed an appointment, pushed back on something, there really was no consequence.
I feel like policies did exist in the business, but they weren't being enforced, of course.
So naturally people stopped taking them seriously.
People don't care that they cancel last minute, that they're late to pick up their dog, that their dogs mattered because they knew deep down nothing was going to happen.
Okay.
They just knew that like, oh, they're flaky.
