They want guidance and accountability and then they go away and they put the work in and they're genuinely excited about it.
I love that so much.
This reflection has come from a handful of experiences over the past, I think I've been doing this just over a year, the mentoring process.
where I realized I was spending a lot of energy on people who didn't really want to change anything.
They, I'm sorry, I feel bad just calling it out, but I just can't.
They wanted someone to like carry the responsibility of their business.
And I need you to know right now, that's not something anybody can do.
It's not, not me, not anyone.
So all that has made me think about what I actually want my mentoring business to become.
Because just like I tell my clients, your business should be ever evolving.
It should be changing, growing, growing with you and I don't want it to be a place that just sells lots of memberships or looks impressive online, okay?
Not what everyone else in the coaching world is doing.
What do I want my days to look like and who do I genuinely want to spend my time with?
Because every person you say yes to, my business or yours, shapes your business, okay?
OK, and then in the same token, every exception shapes your business as well.
And also every boundary you ignore shapes your business.
And without even noticing, I feel like I created this little monster that needed far too much of me.
