Like I'm asking the real questions, not the fun, I have staff, I'm a boss, I'm an employer feeling, but the real boring stuff.
Can your business afford it?
Do you have profitable hourly revenue margin where you could afford to pay a staff member?
How many hours a week?
What about super?
What about fuel?
What about this?
What about the other?
And a lot of the time the answer is because they're turning, sometimes the answer is because they're turning away clients every single week and they are genuinely at capacity.
That is a great reason to hire.
That is a fantastic reason to hire because
Other times, it's because the other business down the road has five staff members, so now they feel like they're behind because they don't have any.
That's completely different.
Hiring because your business needs another pair of hands is very different to hiring because you're trying to keep up with someone else.
Stop trying to keep up with appearances.
It is only going to bury you.
I promise you that.
And then pricing, you know, I see people asking Facebook groups, especially because I'm in a lot of groomer forums now, and it's very hard for me to keep my trap shut and not continuously give unsolicited advice.
But someone will be like, what does everyone charge for a breed style on a poodle?
