Interestingly, in my previous job before starting Stockspot, I worked at a hedge fund where part of our job was to actually preempt the flows going into new additions and deletions into the index.

So there's a whole industry out there that is trying to basically front run and get ahead of these index flows.

to profit.

And so potentially some of those people buying in the float may be doing exactly that.

But then it is a bit of a game of chicken and egg, because if a lot of the buyers initially are just hoping to sell to the sellers, if the buying quantity is bigger than the selling quantity, it actually might not go up.

It might do the opposite and fall.

And that's what happens often when there are these big index changes and too many people are preempting them.

is that actually they cancel out any benefit and actually it goes the other direction.

So it is a bit of a cat and mouse game, but it's not a guarantee that the share price is going to go up.

Yeah, I mean, it's a pretty good characterization.

We just try and simplify the process for people that don't want to be actively managing their portfolio.

And I mean, there's plenty of people out there that want to take a lot of involvement in the process.

There's also people that just want to make sure their money is invested sensibly and they don't have to pay attention.

you know, that's really the group that we see using StockSpot, you know, then they don't have to worry about picking the right assets, the right ETFs, rebalancing, managing tax and all these sorts of things, you know, and hopefully they can get a great return over the long run.

You know, I personally believe, you know, doing it this way can give them a better return than most of the professionals out there.

And I think that's really the, yeah, the secret source of automated investing.
